Description
“ТОТ, КОТОРЫЙ ЖИВЁТ В СКАЛЕ”
“ТОЙ, ЩО ЖИВЕ У СКЕЛІ”
“O QAYADA YAŞAĞAN”
The natural wonder I depicted in my new graphic work is a rock consisting of cellular limestone, located near the Scythian Cape (a.k.a. Cape Batareya or Aç-Qaya) about eight kilometers west of Simferopol (capital of the Republic of Crimea, Russia). The cape itself is famous among speleologists for its 350-meter-deep Zmeinaya Cave (Yılan qobası, i.e. Snake Cave). The cave has revealed numerous archeological finds. In VII—VI cc. B.C. it served as a shrine to the Tauric people of the Kizil-Koba culture; and later as a Tauro-Scythian pagan temple.
Date: Oct. 12, 2014.
Materials: oils, Russian sauce pastels, black ink on Kraft paper, 42x44 cm.
Материалы: масло, пастель, чёрная тушь, крафт-бумага, 42x44 см.

Looks like the construction of Eastern Island was pointless by the look of this rock.
