«Храм с аркадой» на восточном краю скалы Дженевиз-Кая в Генуэзской крепости Судака. Ранее считалось, что он был построен как мечеть на месте более древней православной церкви в 1220-е годы, когда Судак находился под кратковременным контролем турок-сельджуков. Однако раскопки 1969—1975 годов показали, что здание появилось в третьей четверти XIV века. Как бы то ни было, за многовековую историю своего существования храм был известен как итальянский католический собор Святого Матфея, как турецкая мечеть Падишах-Джами, как православная часовня русского военного гарнизона, как лютеранская молельня немцев-колонистов и, наконец, как армяно-католический собор. Ныне в храме с аркадой размещена музейная экспозиция.
«The Temple with Arcade» on the eastern edge of the Ceneviz-Qaya rock in the Genoese Fortress of Sudak (Crimea, Russia). It was once believed that the temple was built as a mosque on the basement of an earlier Orthodox church in the 1220s, when Sudak was under a short-lived control by the Seljuk Turks. However, the data obtained in the 1969—1975 archeological excavations set the construction date at the third quarter of the XIV century. Be it as it may, over the centuries the temple has been known by various names: the Italian Catholic cathedral San Matteo, the Turkish mosque Padişah Cami, the Russian military garrison’s Orthodox chapel, the local German community’s Lutheran prayer house and, last but not least, an Armenian Catholic cathedral. Nowadays, the building is a museum.
