Причудливое нагромождение фигур выветривания в оранжевом софите заходящего солнца. Каждый, кто спускался по горной дороге-серпантину от Ангарского перевала к Алуште, видел эту группу скал на гребне Южной Демирджи. С расстояния многим кажется, что это бюст российской императрицы Екатерины Второй, поэтому данный склон Демирджи-Яйлы назвали Екатерин-горой. Тюркские названия скалы: Хой-Кая («баран-скала»), Балалы-Кая («детская скала») и Келин-Кая («скала-невеста»).
A bizarre accumulation of weathered rock formations in the orange spotlight of the setting sun. Ascending from the Angara Mountain Pass toward the city of Alushta down the winding road, one can’t help noticing this majestic silhouette on the rocky ridge of the Southern Demirji mountain. When looked at from afar, the rock resembles the profile of the Russian Empress Catherine the Second, that’s why many people refer to this part of Demirji Yayla as “Catherine’s Mountain”. The Turkic names for this rock include: Qoy Qaya (“Ram’s rock”), Balalı Qaya (“Children’s rock”), and Kelin Qaya (“Bride’s rock”).
